Images of BuildingsArchitecture Week

ABOUT

The curator of this site, photographer and web designer, Christopher Preece of www.infinityunlimited.co.uk , has been photographing buildings for over 25 years. He has a love of 20th and 21st century architecture and has 'seeked out' and 'found' buildings that interest him. These images are brought together in this online gallery with no particular theme or geographical reference other than a joy in the form, texture, contrast and shape that modern buildings provide for a photographer. If you want to know more about Chris have a look at his personal website www.christopherpreece.com .

These images, as captured here, may not be straight architectural photographs, indeed the photographer has often gone out of his way to pose a more unusual viewpoint. This viewpoint is intended to show how buildings even though part of our landscape and landmarks in our everyday life are often missed, forgotten and worst still destroyed.

Many of the images were shot with an ultra wide angle lens with black and white film and printed on traditional high quality photographic paper. These graphic, brooding images portray the buildings and construction materials, dark and austere way. The more recent images are taken with modern technology, digital cameras using the latest software for editing and show the brighter side to modern architecture.

Visitors to the site are encouraged to comment on the buildings and images.
