TITLE: Millennium Dome
LOCATION: London
DESCRIPTION: Designed by Richard Rogers and constructed between 1996 and 1999 as the venue for London's Millennium celebrations. The world’s biggest dome was built on the Meridian Line in Greenwich to celebrate this historic event. The Millennium Dome closed to visitors on 31st December 2000 a few hours before the new millennium began. A world-class entertainment and sports Arena is now being created within the Dome, that will seat up to 20,000 people. Due to be completed by Spring 2007, it is already playing a key role in London’s bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.
