TITTLE: De La Warr Pavilion 1
LOCATION: Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex
DESCRIPTION: The De La Warr Pavilion is a Grade One listed Modernist building situated on the coast of Bexhill on Sea, East Sussex. The building is currently closed for major Lottery funded redevelopment and will re-open over the late August 2005 bank holiday weekend. Commissioned by the 9th Earl De La Warr in 1935 and designed by architects Eric Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff, the De La Warr Pavilion was the UK‘s first public building built in the Modernist style.
