LOCATION: Salford Quays, Manchester
DESCRIPTION: The Lowry is set in Salford’s once derelict docklands on the banks of the Manchester Shipping Canal. The £105 million hi-tech Centre, opened in 2000, was designed by Michael Wilford and Partners and has received much attention for its striking appearance and design.
